Wondering about meaning of this name for baby girl.too hokey?

The name Natalie means ‘born on christmas day’. I have always loved this name and its even more special now that my due date is dec 26. There is a chance I could have her on christmas in which case the name applies but if she is born on any other day is it stupid to name her that? I know plenty of people name their children without even checking the meanings and if I like it thats all that matters…etc but personally would you do it?

Greek last names?

I need a few Greek last names that aren’t so common that you see them everywhere, but not really long and difficult to read. It’s for a character I’m creating for a story. I searched the Internet but all that came up were Greek first names. Thank you in advance!

What is the first thing you think of when you hear this name?

What do you think of this name (it’s mine)? I’m American but people have always had trouble with my name. What origin (like Scottish, English, ect) do you think of when you read my name? Do you think it’s pretty or at least decent? It’s a girl name.
First Name: Emjei (pronounced like M J)
Last Name: Ragnvaldsdotti (Ragn-Vollds-Dotty is the closest pronunciation I can give)

Give your honest opinions. You won’t hurt my feelings.
I’m not going to name my child that. It’s my name. I was just wondeirng what other people thought of it. Also one of my grandparents had the surname Lacy (from De Lacy).
I thinking about changing the surname but most of my closer family surnames (without going back like 20 generations), the easiest ones to choose from are Ingjaldsson, Fjolnarsson or Svegdasson which in reality, aren’t much easier than the last name I have now.

Iraq: is there a honourable and safe way out for the US?

You may or may not agree with me. But facts are undeniable and interpreting them might be painful. So…

We, citizens of planet Earth, long for peace, democracy, forests full of wild animals, economic prosperity… happiness. This is not true even in Hollywood movies. There is no denying that the Iraq quagmire has become more and more of a nightmare. And this tarnishes the glorious past of the nation that emerged from WWII as a motherland of heroes, of freedom fighters. Unfortunately, the US military, intelligence and political decadence, as far as dealing with the world’s problems, was quick to start. The US never won in Korea. It was saved from total and shameful defeat at the last minute by the arranged cease-fire that holds until today. The US was outright defeated in Vietnam, despite every evenings news about how many enemies had been killed and how many bombs had been dropped. Now it is said that invading Iraq was a big mistake because the instability has gotten worse in the Middle East and Al Qaeda is in a even better position to promote hatred and terror actions against the US.
And now it has just been announced officially: the strategy for fighting Osama bin Laden’s leadership of Al Qaeda in Pakistan has failed. The White House has released a grim new intelligence assessment that has forced it to consider more aggressive measures inside Pakistan. The US is losing ground on a number of fronts in the fight against Al Qaeda and describes the terrorist organization as having significantly strengthened over the past two years. The main reasons for Al Qaeda’s resurgence: the hands-off approach toward the tribal areas by Pakistan’s president, Gen. Pervez Musharraf, who last year brokered a cease-fire with tribal leaders in an effort to drain support for Islamic extremism in the region. Meawhile, a bitter Congressional debate about the future of American policy in Iraq goes on. The Bush administration argues that Iraq was and still is the “central front” in the war on terror, because it was where Al Qaeda operatives were directly attacking American forces. However, the Republican government has to fend off accusations that it had been distracted by the war in Iraq and that the deals it had made with President Musharraf had resulted in lost time and lost ground.

Short story assignment.Opinons on names for characters?

I’ve been writing a few short stories here and there, and I have a fresh idea coming to mind in which a two main characters are very important to the story- a boy and a girl. I have a few potential thoughts on names, and wanted to find some opinions and/or suggestions. FYI, name meanings are very important to me, and to the story! Here they are:

Danica (means “Morning Star”) for the girl
Reagan (means “Little King”) for the boy

I’m looking for any other name suggestions that have special meanings, and opinions on my two choices of names.
