step parent adoption?

i am looking for information about step parent adoption. the biological father of my 26month old daughter has not seen her since month 2 of her life. he is a german citizen, without any american green card etc. he is on her birth certificate. my husband and i have been married for over a year now, and we have a son together. we would like to have him adopt my daughter (he is her father for all intents and purposes except lawfully). we would also like to change her last name from my maiden name to my husbands name. i would apprecaite any information or advice… has anyone done this before?
do i need a lawyer for this or is there a way to do this without the cost of a lawyer?

Can someone help me find my great grandfather’s surname?

Alright. When my great grandfather was on his deathbed, he said that my family’s real last name was Rose, and that we were still from Scotland, just a different clan. However, when he lived through the incident, he never spoke about it again.

My mother’s maiden name is Slone, but was originally spelled Sloan, (it was changed while my grandfather was in the military).

Now, my mother’s mom was German, and her father’s side was half Scottish, half Native American, (Cherokee). Grandpa’s from Kentucky, and his father is supposedly from North Carolina. Are there any certain clans around these areas?

How hard is it to change my sons last name when there is no dad on the birth certificate?

I have a son who has my maiden name for his last name. There is no father listed on his birth certificate. I have since gotten married and I want to change his last name to my married name. How hard is this to do?
My husband and I have a baby together so I wanted my son to have the same last name as all of us. By the way the dad is not involved in any way in my son’s life. I do not recieve any child support from him.
My husband is also going to adopt my son. My son is 3 1/2. He is starting preschool in the fall and I did not want to confuse him by learning one last name and then changing his last hame and making him learn a new name. I thought it would be best to change it before preschool.

How easy is it for me to change my daughters surname?

Both my daughters have my maiden name but I’m planning on getting married and would like us all to have the same surname, I haven’t seen my ex husband for nearly two years and do not know where he lives so I’d like to know if I can change their names without his consent. I’ve tried looking on the net for advice but have found nothing useful.

oh yea… Chimento is my grandmother’s maiden name. it’s Italian and i just really like it…and my grandma likes the name alot…haha when I was like,7 i told her i’d name a kid of mine chimento….not a first name tho! middle name is allright!
also,Kay is a family name[theres Karen Kay,Tisha Kay,Sara Kay,Ayla Kay,and another one i forget!].
but Kay and Chimento are pretty important to me anyways…. :)

Opinion on Kennel Name?

Okay, so I have posted questions about kennel names before and here’s another one. Last time it was pretty much between
-Sender German Shepherds (Sender is my maiden name)
-Summit German Shepherds

I have ruled out Summit and now my top one is Sender, but I have now come up with Harmony German Shepherds? What is your opinion between the two?

If you would like to, I am open to any other name suggestions but please give me your opinion on these two first. And only give suggestions if they are serious, I want it to sound like a legit kennel so I don’t want any funny/silly/ridiculous names. Also I don’t want Von or Vom.

Show kennel - I will be entering my dogs in conformation for sure and am hoping to eventually get into obedience, rally, and aglity.
Harmony is just a word my Mom came up with - she has been giving me a lot of ideas.

How can I change my last name on my US passport?

I just got married, and I changed my maiden name to my husband’s last name, the thing is that the last year I got my US passport but it is with my maiden name, how can I change it? or Where can I go to do that? Are they gonna charge me $100 dollars again?

yes, i am on another yahoo id but i am still wondering if anyone can please help me with the last name Babuga. It does not sound Polish, like my last name now Janik is. It was my grandfathers mothers maiden name. i really need help finiding out the origin and what it means. please help. thanks!
