An errand?
October 10th, 2009 Posted by: admin
I’m doing an errand for a friend on looking up her background or her families place of origin through her last name. Where does the surname Ritchey come from? Some of her family think its Scottish, others German, and a few think its Swiss.

For dinner last night I made a lovely beef Stroganoff?
October 9th, 2009 Posted by: admin
And at the dinner table was asked to relate the story, (history) of this particular dish, and I couldn’t.
Can anyone tell me where this dish has it’s origin and why it is called a Stroganoff?
Is that someone’s surname, or something?

Why did Sen. Clinton refuse to use her surname on her campaign logos?
October 2nd, 2009 Posted by: admin
Example: “Hillary ‘08″
Why didn’t she use “Clinton ‘08″?
Why didn’t the current president do the same to distinguish himself from his dad?
You read it wrong todbod. Try rearing it carefully next time.
you do that, todbod!

how and where do i begin doing family research when the surname may have benn changed?
September 27th, 2009 Posted by: admin
i have been working on my family tree for a couple of years and have hit a brick wall. my grandfather may have changed his last name in the early 1900’s illegally. his was born in 1887, in georgia, and at that time their were not birth certificates. i have searched both surnames and can’t find my great grandparents in any census reports. the earliest i can find my grandfather in a census is in 1920. i do have his application for social security, draft registration card from WWI and his death certificate, but he only list his parent’s first names on these documents. so where do i go from here?

Naming your baby, a legal question?
September 26th, 2009 Posted by: admin
Do you (legally) have to give your baby a familial surname? Or in theory, could a person pick any last name for their baby?
10 CommentsMothers can choose to give their babies, their last name instead of the fathers too right? I was wondering this while I was thinking about single moms.
Thanks!
I have both parents last names (like my mom) and my little brother only has my dad’s surname.

Need a Surname to go with this character?
September 25th, 2009 Posted by: admin
Kay now I need a little help with a surname for Carter Cale -. I was thinking of something with a C maybe? Or make Cale his last name? Then I’d need a middle name.
6 CommentsPossibly:
Carter Allen Cale
Carter Cale Corpin
A bit more about him:
His father is a big time lawyer, and his mother is into the proper way of etiquette. So the name has to kind of be rich-y and snob-y sort of. I don’t know how to explain it.
I am beginning to like it being Carter - Cale. IDK though…
